Day 19 - Are You Fit For Purpose? (Yours)
Oh. My. Heavens. And I say Heavens because literally today I felt like I was actually there. Why? Because I was living my purpose. I was doing exactly what I feel I am here to do. I cannot tell you how blessed I am feeling right now! I actually feel as though I have won the lottery!
So what was I doing that gave me this soulful high? I was delivering Gratitude and Kindness activities as part of an event at The Museum of Happiness. The feeling of sharing what I’ve learned about these powerful tools for happiness and watching the ripple effect within the participants filled me with joy and yes, Gratitude.
Today it feels like one of the key pieces of my life puzzle has fallen effortlessly into place.
Wow, I feel seriously blessed, and the feedback from my wonderful co-host Vicky Johnson (Co-Founder of the museum) reflects that, which is proof that your inner world creates your outer world.
So how did I get to this point? The short answer is I learned to listen to myself. And by self I mean my inner voice. My intuition. My emotional satnav. My soul.
The longer answer is that I chose the road less travelled. I decided to learn to drown out the noise of, well, the rest of the world, and start listening to myself. Let me be clear here, I’m not talking about the voice of fear, the one that tells you to play everything safe, not rock the boat and basically limits your life. I mean the voice of love. I believe everyone has it inside them, and my understanding is that some people call it the Divine voice, or even G-d.
The trouble is, we live in a world where there is a lot of negative noise to contend with, and if you don’t take time to drown it out, that voice remains a mere whisper, and may do so until you depart this world, leaving behind your dreams unrealised, and yes, your purpose unfulfilled.
If you already know your purpose, or at least part of it (for me it’s not just one thing but several tasks within a themed mission!), I’m really happy for you, and I honour you for honouring yourself.
But maybe you’re one of the many people I meet who feels somewhat lost, working in a job to pay the bills and feeling more and more that it’s draining the life out of you. Then maybe you need to get fit – fit for your purpose! Get yourself down to the soul gym, plug in your favourite music and exercise your intuition – in other words, take some time to be in stillness (meditation), which will turn up the volume of your inner voice. Allow yourself to think about those times when you felt on top of the world – What were you doing? Where were you? Who were you with?
Isn’t that why we are all here? To find out what makes us uniquely happy and see how we can use it to make the world better?
If you can’t think of anything immediately, give it time (and if you struggle with Meditation there are many wonderful teachers, Youtube videos and blog posts out there). If you’ve never addressed this before it can take time to filter out the other noise, so be patient. Alternatively, get in touch as I am now offering one to one sessions where I can help you learn to tune in to yourself and start exploring.
Wishing you a splendid Sunday!
